Everything in one app

From gear selection to camera output — no guesswork, no simulated readings. The iPhone camera is the sensor.

PhotoMeterPro histogram, false color, and waveform scopes

Advanced Metering

AVFoundation live capture → LuminanceEngine → real EV mapped to your selected ISO, shutter, and aperture limits.

Live Histogram

CoreImage analysis with RGB channels and clipping warnings on the Meter tab — free and Pro.

False Color

Pro video scopes overlay false color on the live preview for precise exposure across the frame.

Waveform Monitor

Vectorscope and waveform for video Pro workflows — powered by on-device CoreImage analysis.

AI Advisor

Cloud advisors via Cloudflare Worker interpret your meter context — Camera, Lens, Exposure Tutor, Scene Fusion, and more.

Works in Any Light

Manual calibration offsets, flash metering, ND/CPL filters, and hold/spot modes for any scene.

Three steps from scene to camera

1

Select your gear

Pick camera body and lens from the catalog. PhotoMeterPro knows ISO ranges, mounts, and aperture limits.

2

Measure the scene

The iPhone camera reads brightness in real time. You see EV — higher means a brighter scene. Use Hold or Spot for precision.

3

Dial into your camera

Switch to manual mode and enter the ISO, shutter, and aperture shown. Pro can send settings via BLE, QR, or WiFi.

4

Get AI help

Ask advisors to explain your reading, compare lenses, or plan a studio setup — all grounded in measured EV.

Four tabs. One workflow.

Camera → Lens → Meter → Settings. Everything beyond the core loop lives in Settings and Pro tools.

Common questions

Is PhotoMeterPro accurate?

Yes. It uses your iPhone camera as a real luminance sensor via AVFoundation — not simulated readings. Manual calibration offsets are supported.

Does it work with my camera?

150 camera bodies and 613 lenses across 20 mount types. The app maps EV to valid ISO, shutter, and aperture for your selected gear.

Can I use it for video?

Pro includes waveform, vectorscope, and false color for video exposure. Core EV metering works for stills and video.

Does it work offline?

Core metering and the gear catalog work fully offline. AI advisors need a network connection to the Cloudflare Worker backend.

What's included in Pro?

All AI advisors, video scopes, camera output (BLE, QR, WiFi), studio mode, CloudKit sync, presets, history, and automation tools.

Where is it built?

PhotoMeterPro is developed in Bern, Switzerland. Native SwiftUI app for iOS 17+, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac Catalyst.
