How does PhotoMeterPro measure light?
It uses the iPhone camera via AVFoundation as a luminance sensor. SceneCaptureEngine captures frames, LuminanceEngine computes EV, and MeterIntegrationEngine maps that to ISO, aperture, and shutter settings for your selected camera and lens.
Is it as accurate as a dedicated light meter?
PhotoMeterPro displays real values from the iPhone sensor calibrated against your selected gear. It does not guarantee industrial-grade precision. MeterCalibrationStore allows manual offset calibration.
What gear is supported?
The catalog includes 150 camera bodies, 613 lenses, and 20 mount types. You can also use universal Camera and Lens selectors to browse the full catalog.
What does Pro include?
Pro unlocks: Pro Dashboard, Analytics, Export, Cloud Pro sync, Camera Output (BLE/QR/WiFi), Presets, History, Automation, Script Editor, all AI advisors, specialized metering modes, and AI lens description/tags. Pricing is displayed by Apple when you subscribe in the app.
Does it work offline?
Core metering works offline. AI advisors require network access to the Cloudflare Worker. CloudKit sync requires iCloud connectivity.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
Yes. The watchOS companion displays ISO, shutter, and aperture and accepts Digital Crown adjustments via WatchConnectivity. iPhone performs all metering calculations.
What languages are supported?
11 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, and Chinese (Simplified).
Where is my data stored?
Gear and profiles are stored locally in SwiftData. CloudKit sync (Pro) stores camera bodies, lenses, and profile in your private iCloud container. AI requests are sent to the Cloudflare Worker — no persistent user auth on the backend.
